Hi, I'm Yohei Richard Tanaka
I'm a sophomore in the department of economics and joined the O-keis this year.
I'd like to write a bit about myself.
I believe of myself to be an American but genetically I am fully Japanese and my favorite food is rice so I guess that makes me Japanese. lol
Man!! It would of been so much better if my father was a "GAIJIN"
I was an ordinary American kid thinking that I was gonna graduate middle school go to high school and to college in California; grow up in the states like all the other kids.
But one day my father said where going back to Japan. At first I couldn't understand what he was saying and it was all blur to me. I knew that his business wasn't going good after the 911 but didn't think that we were really going to Japan. Since I wasn't studying Japanese that seriously,
my Japanese was pathetic.
After that it went so fast that it felt like the next time I noticed I was in Japan. My first expression of the school I transferred to was like a Hell House. But I was lucky that some seniors took good care of me and I was able to make good friends.
My next obstacle was high school entrance examinations. Since my Japanese was so horrible I was only able to pass one school.
In high school, cramming school and college I was able to make many buds. They really helped me go through my hardest times.
And all throughout my life in Japan, television especially variety shows were another element that saved me.
That why I would like to be able to dispel other's depressions by making them laugh like it helped me out.
Thanks for reading all this bullshit. lol
The next columnist is Akihiro Umeda
